"A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway."

Jeff Herzbach

Jeff HerzbachWhen someone says "He's a rennaisance man", I think of Jeff Herzbach. Like me, Jeff is writing a historic novel set in Italy and unlike me, he's nearly completed it. Jeff writes really well and I hope his book will find a publisher.

By profession, Jeff is a computer specialist, works for big banks in the computer security field. This area of computer industry develops so fast, that Jeff's original plan to work intensively for a period of time and then take time off to write and create doesn't seem plausable. It's turned into working intensively all the time and catching a moment here and there to do other things.

Besides writing, the "other things" for Jeff include playing saxophone and sculpting. I've seen Jeff sculptures only on photos, but they look really nice. I hope to get back to San Fran to see them "live" and especially to hear his sax playing live. Then there is Jeff the traveler and you can bet I don't mean five star hotel packages. Jeff traveled to Tibet on horseback and trekked jungles and motorcycled in Europe on our bike.

There are not many people who could borrow our motorcycle, but Jeff could - anytime. We figured that if he can talk his way into Tibet, he will manage traveling Europe and getting safely back to us. And he did, despite the fact someone stole the licence plate from our bike in Monaco, despite his lost passport in Germany, despite realizing he doesn't have our new address or phone number and doesn't quite remember the name of our village. One rainy night, there was a little knock on the door and there was Jeff - with a story to tell - and we loved it.
