"The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your riches, but to reveal to him, his own."

Ken Nash

When I met my (then future) husband Jim in Prague, we realized we both know know the same people and Ken was one of these friends. First time I came to Jim's appartment and found Ken's book of cartoons, which I printed and bound for Ken. I thought it was an interesting accident, a good omen maybe.

But by then, Ken lived in Guatemala, traveled around, settled in San Francisco for a while and we didn't see him for many years.

Then we met him again, totally by accident - in Thailand at the Chiang Mai night market on New Year's Eve in 1996. There were "only" a few hundred thousand people at that night market, and there he is - not even surprised. But that's just Ken, what seems incredible to the rest of us just makes him smile.

Ken stayed in our lives since. In 2002, he bought a plain ticket back to Prague - for 9-11. He came with a week's delay and lived with us for 3 months, before he got an appartment in Prague. This picture was taken on the day he moved and I was sorry to see him go. Now he comes back for weekends and holidays, or just to work. He brings his laptop and a workload and makes us all just blink.

Besides being a great traveler, Ken is a writer, artist, cartoonist, animator and even musician. He's put over two years of work into organizing Alchemy Readings & Performance Series in Prague. See more about this project in my Web Design Portfolio.

Ken is also the person who steered me into my web design career and has cooperated on many of my projects as a graphic artist or animator. I don't cooperate with him just because he's my friend. Ken is not just tremendously talented, but unlike many artists, he's a great fan and supporter of all forms of creativity and this makes working with him really a pleasure.
